Except a work-out for your body as you climb to the top and afterwards make a well-deserved descent into the backcountry of one of the most beautiful places in Europe. If it’s the first time for you, you’ll find out for yourself how addictive touring is. Once done, you’ll never want to do anything else. Instead of using lifts to get up the mountain, get up in the middle of nature on skis or splitboard to leave all the daily commotion behind.

Who can do it?

Not only expert skiers and snowboarders but also the average skier and snowboarder who has long dreamed of it. You have to come down a red slope confidently and parallel. It is of course an advantage if you already have experience in deep snow and difficult snow conditions in the backcountry. This means we have packages for those who have never done anything like this to the very experienced backcountry rider.

Who can do it?

Many participants always ask how fit you should be.

You must expect to make between 600 and 1800 meters of altitude, depending on can and what you want to do. You must have an average level of fitness.

Security

There’s always some avalanche danger in the mountains when you’re off-roading. That’s why you always need experienced and qualified guides who have the necessary know-how in safety and technology. All of our guides have. Also, our guides are highly qualified ski instructors and that is why they are super skiers. They are both. This is a great advantage as they can always find the perfect snow and even give tips and tricks on your technique. This makes them the ultimate guide and you can make sure you get the most out of an unforgettable vacation.

Equipment

Ski touring skis are generally lighter and wider underfoot than regular piste skis. The skis also have a touring binding (which allows the heels to come up when going up and which you can then fix when going down) and removable skins for going up. Snowboarders need a “splitboard” including skins. The principle is the same. If you’re going into the backcountry, you’ll also need a shovel, probe and avalanche transceiver. If you don’t have this yourself, we also have all the equipment to borrow for free or we can help you get the right equipment in the sports store.

Multiday Tour experience incl. accommodation

Guided tours in the Hohe Tauern region. Still an insider tip to the Alps. Not yet overcrowded and therefore always good snow conditions. Our Multiday Package is a 4 day tour including overnight stays in one of the most beautiful and uncrowded parts of Austria. The Multiday Tour comes with luxury accommodation including half board +. We spend the night in a mountain hut, the Moosalm, which is located at 1533 meters above sea level. You don’t have to worry about anything.
